THE PROBLEM

The modern dining landscape is rich with options, but the challenge lies in effortlessly discovering and choosing the perfect dining experience. Traditional restaurant search platforms often lack the depth and personalization needed to cater to individual tastes and preferences. Navigating through an extensive array of restaurants, their menus, and securing a reservation can be a cumbersome process. This is a gap in the market that Epic Eats addresses — simplifying the quest for exceptional dining by providing a comprehensive solution for users to effortlessly find, explore, and secure reservations at the best restaurants in their vicinity.

THE SOLUTION

Epic Eats is not just another dining app; it's a culinary concierge that puts the power of choice in your hands. This app allows users to search for restaurants based on their favorite food types, desired cuisine, and/or their current location. No more sifting through endless lists—simply input your preferences, and Epic Eats curates a personalized selection of the finest dining establishments near you. Delve into each restaurant's menu, ambiance, and customer reviews to make informed decisions. The app streamlines the reservation process, enabling users to secure a table with just a few taps. Epic Eats goes beyond being a directory; it's your interactive guide to culinary excellence, providing directions to the chosen restaurant, ensuring you arrive at your dining destination with ease.

Pain points include

  • Users encounter difficulties finding restaurant and the number to call to make reservations.

  • Users might encounter restaurants not picking up their calls.

  • Users might find it hard to navigate between two apps to find a restaurant and directions to it.

  • Users might find a restaurant on the internet but have difficulty finding its current menu and prices.

  • Users may be frustrated if the app displays outdated information, such as closed restaurants or inaccurate menu details.

  • The options on the internet are not curated to what I feel like eating today.

 Addressing the pain points

  • Epic Eats provides accurate information and reviews, access to restaurant menu and directions, all the user's finger tips, within the same application. No need to search the web and make lists.

  • Simplify the app's navigation structure, provide clear labels and visual cues, and offer tutorials or tooltips for new features to make it accessible to everyone.

  • Streamline the reservation process, offer real-time availability updates, and provide users with notifications and reminders.

  • Implement an intuitive and efficient search function with filters, autocomplete suggestions, and an easily navigable interface.

Like what you see? Let's make a reservation!

No need to leave the app. Just click on "directions" to figure out how to get there. You may also decide to go directly, without making a reservation

Next Steps

  • Wireframing and submission for development.

  • Conduct usability testing with real users to gather feedback on the implemented changes. This step is essential to ensure that the proposed solutions effectively address the identified pain points.

  • Analyze the feedback from user testing to identify any new issues, concerns, or unexpected outcomes. This feedback will guide further refinements.

  • Based on user testing results, iterate on the design, adjusting and improvements as necessary. This may involve going back to the design phase to address any new pain points.

  • Monitor user interactions with the updated design using analytics tools. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the impact of the changes on user engagement, satisfaction, and app usage.

  • Document the updated design, including any new features, interactions, or design patterns. This documentation is valuable for onboarding new team members and ensuring consistency in future developments.
